About
Metagenomics is the study of the entire set of genetic material (nucleotide sequences) directly recovered from all the organisms present in an environment such as soil, water., human skin, etc. It is sometimes referred to as environmental genomics, ecogenomics, community genomics or microbiomics. The emergence of this field has potentially advanced agro research and revolutionized pathogen detection in public health sectors through the use of next-generation DNA sequencing and a new era is approaching where pathogen detection of novel infectious diseases will be identified by metagenomics methods. In this course, I will take you through the practicality of in silico metagenomic methods using various tools and approaches that is applicable to different environmental samples.
