About the Program
This is an 8-week structured research internship (not a course) where you design, execute, and complete real genomics and bioinformatics research projects under expert mentorship.
You work with actual datasets, learn research methodology, and build a portfolio that proves you can conduct independent research.

Key Point: Most programs teach you software tools. This teaches you how to think and work like a researcher.
AGENDA: 8 Weeks | 1 Class each week + Pre-recorded session | 3PM GMT | 1hr Per Session
STARTING DATE: 3RD - MAY - 2026
This is for you if...
YOU'RE A STUDENT:
Problem: You've studied biology/genetics/bioinformatics but never actually done research. Job postings require "2+ years research experience" and you don't qualify.

How this helps: You'll complete real research projects with mentorship, giving you actual research experience to put on CVs, graduate school applications, and interviews. You'll understand how research actually works not just the theory.
YOU'RE AN EARLY-CAREER RESEARCHER:
Problem: You have some background but lack structured research experience and mentorship to move forward independently.

How this helps: You get a dedicated mentor who's published research, personalized feedback, and guidance on publishing-quality work. You'll build confidence and a portfolio of completed projects.
YOU'RE PREPARING FOR GRADUATE SCHOOL (Msc/PhD):
Problem: MSc and PhD programs want to know you can do independent research. A transcript isn't enough.
How this helps: You'll have completed research projects, mentor recommendations, and a portfolio that shows you're research-ready. This is what admissions committees actually want to see.
YOU'RE TRANSITIONING INTO BIOINFORMATICS:
Problem: You're interested in bioinformatics but don't know if it's right for you or how to actually get started. You can't connect your existing knowledge to bioinformatics work.

How this helps: You'll choose a research program that interests you (cancer genomics, plant genomics, epidemiology, etc.) and apply your existing knowledge to real bioinformatics problems. You'll discover if this is your path and build relevant skills simultaneously.
YOU WANT A JOB/SCHOLARSHIP IN RESEARCH:
Problem: Employers and scholarship programs want research experience, but you've never had the opportunity or structure to gain it.

How this helps: You'll have a professional research portfolio, mentorship letters, and certifications from an internationally recognized institute. This is what hiring managers look for.
